Every Thing Starts Up With a 'Purpose' and Audience' In A Writing...
I can only plan the system of this class I have taken such as reading, watching given assignments. However, I just don't have enough time to fully focus and work on the assignments. This makes me panic and stress every week.
This week's the reading, Jones' video, and my teacher Johny's contents and illustrations were wonderfully and simply organized. Just the length of the letter scared me incredibly, but time flew by while I was reading it. Working only on words I didn't know was really overwhelming because I only had to work on words for 5 hours. In the end, I did not regret it at all, on the contrary, it was a very useful work for me.
Dr. King's repetition of the same words in the letter was very helpful for me to understand the subject and reinforce the words; Like 'direct action, self purification, minorty, majority, segregation, oppresed'.
I think that the class contents of the past week are useful for me to analyze the class contents of this week; annotating, summarizing paragraphs in itself, identifying repetitive words, marking the discourses that I consider important, determining the purpose, main idea, target audience, researching about the author, making connections and paying full attention...
In particular, the subject of understanding the audience and the purpose of the article we focused on this week was given with a great video and letter example. My conclusion from these examples; what we want to convey through writing must have a 'purpose' and an 'audience' to follow that purpose. For that audience, the simpler and more sincere the author's intent is, the more important it is to capture the audience's attention.
These ideas, examples and assignments are invaluable to me. Because I know these are the passwords that feed my writing ability.
